A Step Forward for Women in Country Music

Country singers Jana Kramer and Kelsea Ballerini are touring this May, as representatives for this year's next women of country music. Kramer tells of wanting to participate in this tour by saying "I wanted to get out there and show that girls can have an awesome tour together. We can go out, sell tickets, have fun and the crowd can have a good time. I want to be on the forefront with supporting women and helping us get heard.” This blog and my Instagram account @womenofcountry2015 were created out of love for women's success and country music. Both accounts feature new and old artists, some you may have never heard of. These girls are paving the way to a new kind of country music, with songs such as Maddie and Tae's "Girl in a Country Song" and RaeLynn's song "God Made Girls" promoting girls and women rights. CMT with their Next Women of Country campaign has lead the way to getting these girls heard. But let's get these girls to the charts! Kramer notices how "If you look at the charts, it’s obviously extremely man-driven. There are only three or four girls on the charts. But at the end of the day, the best song wins. Just saying that you’re not giving up – because sometimes I feel like if you give up, you’re gone, and a lot of women come and go. ..." Start promoting these girls today by following my blog and discovering a new female artist every week. For more ways to help follow my Instagram account and be a part of these girl's success.
